Provenance

Content Credentials & Verification

Every image in this archive is documented with human-captured provenance. Signed images carry cryptographically verifiable Content Credentials.

What Are Content Credentials?

Content Credentials (C2PA) are a tamper-evident manifest embedded in image files. They prove who created the content, how it was made (camera capture, not AI), and when and where it was shot.

In a world of AI-generated imagery, these credentials distinguish human-captured documentary photography from synthetic content. News outlets, researchers, and licensors can verify authenticity.

What We Preserve

  • EXIF metadata (camera, lens, capture date, GPS) embedded in every derivative
  • IPTC DigitalSourceType: digitalCapture — human camera capture
  • C2PA signing on new imports (when certs and c2patool are configured)
  • SHA-256 integrity manifest for all deployed images
  • RAW originals archived locally for long-term verification

Verify an Image

Use the Content Credentials verification tool to inspect any signed image. Paste the image URL to view its credential chain.

Open Content Credentials Verify

Signed images on item pages show a Content Credentials badge; click it to verify that specific image.

Machine-Readable Discovery

This archive declares C2PA capability and provenance assertions at /.well-known/c2pa. The integrity manifest at /integrity-manifest.json provides SHA-256 hashes of all deployed images.
